We have updated the Donate page, and will be updating it again as soon as we have some bank account details!
Also, thanks to a comment by Joanna Clapton, we have put new information on archaeological sites in the Straiton area up on the planning pages: see the new information on the Planning Overview page and the Linfairn page.
It was quickly decided that professional help must be sought at the outset of the campaign. The cost of acquiring this expertise is significant so donations are being actively sought. A bank account is being set up, in the meantime you can donate directly to Bea or Andy who will issue a receipt.
Any ideas for as to how we can raise funds, raise awareness and raise support would be very welcome – please contact us through this website.
We are at the beginning of what may be a long and arduous battle, we will work to keep the community updated and involved, but please help us by letting us know if you have any skills, interests or contacts that you think may help.
Some new information added to the Linfairn page: a map of the Knockgardner SSSIs. Lots of information going up, so lots of room for error – so please tell us if you spot mistakes!
Dalmorton Wind farm has nothing to do with Dalmorton Farm itself. The windfarm is partly located on Knockskae Hill, Back Fell and Knockgardner. Will they rename it? Watch this space.
At a meeting in Straiton village hall on 6th Feb, a committee was formed to organise the campaign. Details of committee members are on the Contact page. The next committee meeting will be on Monday 11th February.
